Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our client’s busy Property Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or develop a career in property law, with hands-on experience in residential and/or commercial transactions.
Initial Focus:
The successful candidate will primarily assist with post-exchange and completion matters, supporting the team in ensuring transactions are processed efficiently and in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing post-exchange procedures, including preparing completion statements and handling pre-completion checklists
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, and other stakeholders during the completion process
- Assisting with submission of SDLT forms and Land Registry applications
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of documents and correspondence
- Maintaining and updating internal case management systems
- Supporting fee earners and solicitors as needed
Future Development:
Following initial training, responsibilities may expand to include:
- Opening new files and conducting conflict checks
- Assisting with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Client (KYC) checks
- Preparing initial client care packs and documentation
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- A proactive and team-oriented approach
- Experience in a legal environment is desirable but not essential
Qualifications:
- A degree in Law or completion of a legal qualification (. LPC/SQE) is desirable, but not required
- Previous property or conveyancing experience is a plus
