An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor to join a highly regarded specialist family law practice in West Sussex. This well-established and growing firm is recognised for providing exceptional client service and expert legal advice across a broad range of family law matters. The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team that values professionalism, empathy and a constructive approach to family law. This role would suit a solicitor with 5+ years’ PQE who is looking to handle high-quality privately funded work while enjoying genuine career progression and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- You will manage your own caseload of privately funded family law matters, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Private children matters
- Cohabitation disputes
- Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
- Domestic abuse matters
- Providing practical, clear and empathetic legal advice to clients
- Managing cases from instruction through to conclusion
- Drafting legal documents, court applications and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, barristers, courts and third parties
- Supporting junior members of the team where appropriate
- Maintaining high standards of client care and file management
- Contributing to the continued success and growth of the practice
Candidate Requirements
- To be considered, you will:
- Be a qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Have a minimum of 5 years’ PQE in family law
- Have experience managing your own family law caseload
- Demonstrate excellent communication and client care skills
- Be organised, proactive and detail-oriented
- Possess strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
- Be able to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
- Share a client-focused and constructive approach to family law
- Resolution membership or accreditation would be advantageous but is not essential.
