Contract: Full Time, Initial 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

My client is a law firm that specialises in private family law practice based in South London. We are seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal to support our busy and growing team. The firm specialises exclusively in private family law matters, including divorce and finance, child arrangements disputes, ToLATA claims, and Family Law Act/domestic abuse matters.

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely alongside 3–4 solicitors within the firm and will be responsible for a range of paralegal and administrative support functions, including:

  • Preparing court bundles and hearing documentation
  • Attending client meetings with the supervising solicitor and recording instructions/advice
  • Booking Counsel and clerking court hearings
  • Drafting client care letters and routine correspondence
  • Handling telephone enquiries and arranging appointments
  • Assisting with day-to-day case management and file administration

The role is designed to support solicitors by taking responsibility for routine and administrative tasks, enabling fee earners to focus on more complex legal work.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience within a family law environment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication and client care skills
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced legal practice
  • Experience preparing court bundles and liaising with Counsel is desirable
