An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Control Officer to join a growing and ambitious organisation within the insurance sector. This role offers the chance to work closely with Customer Success and Operations teams to improve collections performance, optimise debt recovery processes and enhance the customer experience.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within credit control, collections or debt recovery and ideally possess knowledge of the motor insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the collection of overdue and defaulted payments
  • Liaising with customers and finance providers to maximise recovery outcomes and minimise cancellations
  • Monitoring aged debt and proactively recovering outstanding balances
  • Escalating high-risk accounts where appropriate
  • Reconciling insurer and payment provider accounts
  • Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
  • Managing payment queries and providing excellent customer service
  • Working collaboratively with internal departments to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
  • Producing and contributing to collections and debt performance reporting
  • Identifying trends in customer behaviour and payment issues
  • Providing insights and recommendations to improve processes and customer outcomes
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within the motor insurance industry
  • Previous experience within credit control, collections or debt recovery
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working with financial records and reconciliations
  • An understanding of compliance requirements, including Consumer Duty
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and workloads effectively
What’s on Offer
