Our client is seeking an Assistant Solicitor – Private Client – to join their growing team. The role involves handling Probate, Intestacy, LPA’s, EPA registrations, Deputyships, Trusts, Wills, and Tax Planning.

The Role

  • Assist the Head of Department in all aspects of Private Client work.
  • Maximize profitability and increase billing for yourself and the department.
  • Develop a positive attitude towards the firm’s business and contribute to its success.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all practice and client documentation and information.
  • Keep clients regularly updated on their cases.
  • Greet clients professionally and ensure they are accompanied on premises.
  • Issue the Client Care document at appropriate times.
  • Maintain ongoing contact with clients, even during periods of inactivity, to keep them informed.
  • Handle routine and complex inquiries effectively and resolve client complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain clear communication with colleagues at all times.
  • Support and develop support staff, fostering team spirit for firm growth.
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery are maintained safely and faults are reported immediately.
  • Ensure high-quality work from support staff, aiming for first-time accuracy.
  • Understand client account obligations and ensure billing complies with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Complete client and matter input documents according to procedures.
  • Keep files neat and review them as per supervision requirements.
  • Promote the firm’s legal services to existing clients.
  • Maintain good relationships with external institutions while adhering to professional conduct standards.
  • Record time accurately on client matters daily and submit timesheets on time.
  • Follow library use policies, ensuring books are returned promptly.
  • Comply with Law Society regulations and the firm's policies outlined in client care letters and terms of business.
  • Follow procedures in the Office Manual and procedural guides.
