Secretarial/Research role. progression opportunities What you would likely do Research /Secretarial/administrative work Preparing and formatting letters, statements and legal documents. Organising case files and keeping records up to date. Booking appointments, conferences and court dates. Speaking with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts and other organisations. Managing emails, post and telephone enquiries. Filing and organising evidence and correspondence. Preparing bundles of documents for court. Research work Researching criminal law and relevant legislation. Looking up previous court cases ( case law ) that might help with a case. Researching particular offences, defences or sentencing issues. Finding and summarising relevant legal information for the solicitor. Potentially researching background information relating to a defendant, witness or investigation. Checking facts and making sure information in documents is accurate. What makes it a "criminal team"?
