About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Litigation Assistant to join our legal team in Wigan.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to solicitors and fee earners, assisting with the management and progression of a varied caseload.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an interest in litigation and the legal sector who is looking to develop their knowledge and experience within a professional and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting solicitors and fee earners with the management of litigation cases.
- Preparing and drafting legal documents, correspondence and court forms.
- Opening and maintaining client files and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaising with clients, solicitors, courts, barristers and other third parties.
- Reviewing and organising case documentation and evidence.
- Assisting with the preparation of court bundles and trial documentation.
- Monitoring deadlines and ensuring key dates are recorded and met.
- Conducting legal and factual research when required.
- Providing updates to clients and responding to routine enquiries.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with firm policies, procedures and relevant regulations.
- Providing general administrative support to the litigation team.
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience within a legal or litigation environment is desirable.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Confident communicating with clients and external parties.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
