Kingsbridge Educational Trust is seeking a proactive and highly organised HR & Training Officer to join our central team based at the Open University Campus at Walton Hall Milton Keynes .
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our staff and leaders across the Trust, helping to deliver excellent HR services and coordinate high-quality professional development opportunities.
About the Role
As our HR & Training Officer, a large focus of the role will be on the setting up of a new training matrix and the setup of a new computer system.
This will include the ongoing coordination, administration of training and continuing professional development (CPD), ensuring our schools workforce remains well-supported, compliant, and equipped to deliver the best outcomes for our pupils.
You will also be involved in providing comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to low level employee relations casework.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing training records and statutory training compliance
- Organising and promoting Trust-wide CPD opportunities
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, contract changes and leaver processes, including input on the Trust payroll system.
- Coordinating safer recruitment processes and pre-employment checks.
- Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Assisting with policy advice on employee relations casework, including attendance, disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
- Supporting governance compliance, including DBS checks and governor training.
- Where required to take notes for any HR or Governance hearings (this may involve some occasional evening work)
- Supporting audits, inspections and policy development activities.
We are looking for someone who is
- Knowledgeable about UK employment law, HR best practice and data protection requirements.
- Experienced in recruitment, onboarding and HR administration and employee relations casework.
- Confident in supporting employee relations matters and maintaining confidentiality
- Skilled in organising training programmes and managing competing priorities.
- An excellent communicator who can build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Competent in using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Committed to continuous improvement and professional development
- A CIPD qualification (or working towards one), experience within education or a Multi-Academy Trust, and governance experience would be advantageous.
