Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Solicitor—ideally with IT contracting expertise—to join our Contract Management team. The successful applicant will provide pragmatic, solutions‑focused legal advice, negotiate commercial agreements, and support operational risk management across the university’s digital and procurement landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SLAs, software licences, supplier contracts, and partnership arrangements.
  • Manage call‑off agreements under APUC, CCS, and similar public sector procurement frameworks.
  • Advise on legal risks related to cloud technologies, cybersecurity, AI tools, and data residency.
  • Ensure supplier contracts meet digital governance and institutional compliance standards.
  • Provide expert legal guidance on contractual obligations, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal professional.
  • Strong experience in IT contract negotiation and commercial law.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, GDPR, and public‑sector procurement frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
