Fixed‑Term Maternity Cover 37.5 hours per week, all year round. The King’s School, Canterbury seeks an experienced and proactive Transport Manager to provide maternity cover within the Premises Department. This varied and strategic role is responsible for the management of the School’s vehicle fleet, transport staff, and drivers, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of transport services across the School.
Responsibilities include day‑to‑day operations, fleet maintenance, vehicle replacement planning, budget management, driver training, regulatory compliance, and identifying opportunities to improve services and maximise efficiency. Additionally, the role supports the Premises Director with aspects of the School’s residential property portfolio, including liaison with letting agents, tenants, and professional advisers.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Substantial experience in transport operations management, including budgetary control, fleet management, and strategic planning.
- Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience within an educational environment advantageous but not essential.
