The King's School, Canterbury is recruiting a Dancing Hall Supervisor to manage our busy catering department during the school term.

  • Salary: £10,036.80 per annum (20.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year + 16.5% holiday pay)
  • Contract: 20.5 hours per week, Basis Part Time
  • Location: The King’s School, Canterbury
  • Closing date: 10 July 2026

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and oversee the daily operation of the dining hall, ensuring a welcoming and efficient meal service.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Lead a team to provide catering services for pupils, staff and guests during all internal and external functions.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling and resource allocation to meet the demands of peak times.
  • Implement and uphold the school's safeguarding and welfare commitments within the dining environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior supervisory or hospitality experience in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities, able to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
  • Team player with a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
