We’re working with a forward-thinking organisation that is rapidly expanding its Temporary Accommodation division and is now seeking a dynamic individual to play a pivotal role in its continued growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to develop their Social Housing career and evolve into a Business Development Manager position. You will be joining a thriving, ambitious team where your expertise, relationships, and strategic thinking will directly influence success across new and existing local authority partnerships.
The Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will take the lead in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the temporary accommodation sector. Your core objective will be to generate new relationships with local authorities, while also strengthening and expanding existing partnerships to unlock further temporary housing opportunities. You’ll be instrumental in positioning the organisation as a trusted and reliable partner across both new and established networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy focused on local authorities and housing providers.
- Proactively generate new relationships with local authorities to create fresh temporary accommodation opportunities.
- Develop and grow existing client relationships to increase contract value and service utilisation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across relevant departments including Housing Needs, Procurement, and Temporary Accommodation teams.
- Identify and secure new contracts and partnership opportunities.
- Navigate and manage tender processes, frameworks, and procurement cycles.
- Ensure full compliance with local authority standards, regulations, and service expectations.
- Collaborate internally to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations and contractual obligations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, policy changes, and sector developments.
About You
- Proven experience in a business development, account management, or partnership role within the social housing or temporary accommodation sector.
- Established relationships and contacts within local authorities.
- Strong understanding of local authority processes, procurement frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Commercially astute with a track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly motivated, target-driven, and able to work autonomously.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
