We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Optical Assistant or Dispensing Optician to join our small independent practice in Reepham. At Kings, we pride ourselves on offering a relaxed, patient focused experience with longer appointment times, high quality eyewear and genuinely personal care. We are a family run independent practice with a strong reputation locally for both optometry and audiology services.
This role would suit somebody with:
- Previous optical experience, OR
- Experience in a similar customer focused healthcare or retail environment with willingness to learn
Role
As a small team, everybody helps with all aspects of the patient journey. Duties may include:
- Welcoming patients and managing reception
- Booking appointments and answering calls
- Assisting patients with frame selection
- Dispensing and adjustments
- Supporting both optical and audiology clinics where required
At times you may be working alongside just the Optometrist or Audiologist, so confidence, initiative and the ability to multitask are important.
Hours
Typical hours: Tuesday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Some Saturday morning holiday cover will occasionally be required, so flexibility is essential. Closed Sundays, Mondays and Bank Holidays. Extended closures over Christmas and Easter.
Pay
£14.00 to £18.50 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
