A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of Learning Hub Manager and Careers Advisor at Kings Norton Girls’ School and Sixth Form (KNGS). This is a permanent, full‑time position working 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday) on terms‑time only. KNGS is an OFSTED outstanding school and part of the West Midlands Multi Academy Trust, known for its vibrant, socially and culturally diverse community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop an innovative Learning Hub, embedding it fully in the curriculum and aligning it with the school’s vision and values.
  • Provide strategic leadership and day‑to‑day management of library services, promoting reading, research skills and independent learning for staff and students.
  • Manage resources, budgets, archives and the library management system; organise events and student enrichment opportunities.
  • Ensure a safe, well‑regulated learning environment.
  • Support the Assistant Headteacher in delivering a comprehensive careers guidance programme, including workshops, employer engagement and the maintenance of careers resources.
  • Provide 1:1 independent career advice and guidance to students; be prepared to study towards a Qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance L6.
  • Act as a visible role model, champion literacy, inspire curiosity, promote the Learning Hub internally and externally, and contribute to staff development, school priorities and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Highly organised with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines.
  • Experience in educational leadership, library/learning hub management, or equivalent roles is desirable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and a clear understanding of child protection principles.
  • Proficiency in supporting careers programmes and employer engagement.
