Overview

We are looking for a receptionist/administrator to join our friendly practice on a permanent basis. You will work as part of the Kings Medical team- made up of two GP partners, a Practice Nurse, two Health Care Assistants and Administerial Staff. We are a medical training practice and you will also work alongside Registrars and FY2 Doctors.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide high quality reception and administrative services for the GP\’s to ensure efficiency in patient care
  • Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from staff members, patients, carers and other services providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate
  • Producing reports for solicitors/insurance companies/other outside agencies
  • Scanning and coding of letters
  • Referrals using NHS e-referrals and email
  • Registration of new patients
  • Calling for patients for review who have a chronic disease
  • Take responsibility for own development, learning and performance

Job responsibilities

To provide high quality reception and administrative services for the GP\’s to ensure efficiency in patient care

Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from staff members, patients, carers and other services providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate

Producing reports for solicitors/insurance companies/other outside agencies

Scanning and coding of letters

Referrals using NHS e-referrals and email

Registration of new patients

Producing reports for patients who require chronic disease monitoring and calling them in for review

Any other duties that fall within capabilities as delegated by the practice manager or GP

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths

Experience

  • Experience of working within a team
