Key Responsibilities
- Respond to safeguarding and child protection concerns, disclosures and referrals, assessing risk and taking timely, child-centred action.
- Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead with case management, review and the monitoring of emerging concerns and outstanding actions.
- Make appropriate referrals and contribute to multi-agency meetings, statutory reviews and Family Help assessments.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential safeguarding records on CPOMS, including decisions, actions, referrals and outcomes.
- Provide targeted support for vulnerable students and families, including children looked after, young carers and students whose attendance or SEND needs create additional safeguarding vulnerability.
- Respond to online safety concerns and support effective filtering, monitoring and education for students, staff and families.
- Support safe transitions into, within and out of the academy by obtaining, reviewing and transferring safeguarding information securely.
- Contribute to safeguarding training, student education, policy development, audits and quality assurance.
- Work closely with safeguarding, pastoral, attendance, SEND and teaching teams to promote a safe, respectful and inclusive academy culture.
