We are seeking a Learning Enhancement HLTA to join our team at Kings International College, part of Bourne Education Trust. We are a small, caring 11-16 school with a strong commitment to supporting the academic achievement and personal development of every student. Due to our dedication to providing high-quality pastoral and educational support, we are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Learning Enhancement HLTA to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their full potential. A significant aspect of the role will involve working closely with a named high-achieving Key Stage 4 student, providing tailored support to enable him to successfully achieve a full suite of GCSE qualifications. In addition, the postholder will support other students within lessons, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes.

Experience of working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs would be highly desirable.

Details:

  • Position: Learning Enhancement HLTA
  • Contract: Term time, fixed term until August 2028 in the first instance, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent subject to the continuing needs and circumstances of the school
  • Hours: 33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.15am - 3.30pm
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Salary: Support Pay Scale 6, £31,658 - £33,952 FTE, £24,223 - £25,978 Actual

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support students outside of the main classroom to continue their education up to GCSE level on a one to one basis until they are ready to return to usual lessons
  • Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skill to support their learning
  • Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations

Requirements include:

  • Essential ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
  • Current HLTA qualification or willingness to work towards one within the next 12 months
  • Ability to evidence effective continuous professional development
