Role Summary

Please note, while this is a fully remote position, candidates must reside in the UK and hold the right to work in the UK to be considered. Location: Remote, UK. Start date: 1 September 2026. Contract: Permanent. Working Pattern: Full‑time. Salary: £36,000-£42,500. Closing Date: 14th May 2026.

We are hiring an English Teacher to join the team at King's Interhigh Online School. The successful candidate will be contracted to work 42 weeks of the year, 35 weeks of which being our contact time and a further 4 weeks will be directed during half terms to complete other activities such as course writing, marking, revision sessions etc. It is expected that staff will work the necessary hours to fulfil their duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching & Learning: Teach English Language and/or English Literature across iGCSE, International A Level, and IB English programmes, ensuring lessons are engaging, challenging, and inclusive. Plan and deliver high-quality online lessons that support the development of reading, writing, analytical, and communication skills. Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet the needs of diverse international learners. Promote high expectations, academic ambition, and a positive learning environment.
  • Assessment & Reporting: Mark student work accurately and in line with exam‑board and IB assessment criteria. Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports student improvement and exam readiness. Contribute to internal assessment processes, mock examinations, and revision programmes as required. Complete reports, references, and other student‑related documentation accurately and on time.
  • Curriculum Contribution & Professional Practice: Contribute to the development and review of English resources, schemes of work, and online learning materials. Engage with current research and best practice in English pedagogy and online teaching, applying this to classroom practice. Participate actively in CPD, departmental collaboration, and whole‑school meetings. Support the wider learning community by sharing ideas, resources, and effective practice.
  • Pastoral & Professional Responsibilities: Promote the well‑being, progress, and safeguarding of all students. Provide academic guidance and support to students, including advice on next steps and pathways. Uphold the professional standards, values, and expectations of Inspired Education. Undertake any additional reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Essential: A strong academic background in teaching English. Experience teaching iGCSE and/or International A Level English. Secure understanding of international English curricula and assessment standards. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confidence using online teaching platforms and digital tools. A strong understanding of, and commitment to, safeguarding and student welfare. The ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a professional learning community.
  • Desirable: Experience creating or adapting online teaching resources for English. Familiarity with IB English assessment and internal assessment processes. Experience teaching students from a range of international and cultural backgrounds. A reflective, adaptable approach suited to a dynamic online learning environment.
