The Leader of Learning – English plays a central role in inspiring students and supporting high‑quality teaching and learning across the English curriculum. This role focuses on delivering engaging and purposeful subject content, promoting student progress and well‑being, and contributing to a positive and dynamic online learning environment. The post‑holder will motivate students to achieve their full potential, model excellent professional practice, and support continuous development of pedagogy and curriculum design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire, motivate, and provide purposeful English subject knowledge to students.
- Stay informed on current educational research and emerging pedagogy, sharing best practice across the learning community.
- Take a leading role in maintaining a positive and engaging learning climate within the subject area and across the wider curriculum.
- Support school self‑evaluation and contribute to the development of priorities for improvement.
- Maintain high standards of professional conduct and act as a positive role model for staff and students.
- Promote the progress and well‑being of all students within assigned classes or groups.
- Provide timely and accurate guidance, advice, assessments, reports, and references for students.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional learning activities, and CPD opportunities.
- Undertake any additional duties as directed by the line manager in support of the school’s aims.
