Working under the Production Supervisor, the Production Foreman for the Alpha plant will lead and help coordinate all activities associated with their production line. This person will engage directly with team members to create a positive and productive work environment by supporting, coordinating, and enforcing programs, policies, and procedures. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Foreman will also lead Autonomous Maintenance and equipment cleaning activities. The Employees in this position may interact with a supervisor daily to receive guidance and feedback. Some non-routine activities may require a supervisor’s advance approval, but routine decisions within the general scope of the role may be made independently.
- Leads by example, trains, and mentors. Maintains a team of focused and engaged employees
- Leads continuous improvement projects and coaches team on improvement strategies. Assists in leading continuous improvement activities for effectiveness and sustainability.
- Uses data to recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Ensures shift data and records are accurate and up to date. Verifies information input into company software is accurate and complete
- Embodies company values of Dignity, Excellence, and Telling It Like It Is in a Way That Can Be Heard
- Acts as a Safety champion, ensuring that team culture embodies a “safety first, safety always” attitude with policies, procedures, and accountability to protect our ‘ohana’s safety
- Meets business demand by scheduling production runs to meet need while upholding King’s Hawaiian’s Irresistible quality standards
- Drives an Autonomous Maintenance program for production employees
- Leads strategies to improve performance for all major metrics (safety, quality, etc.)
- Ensures compliance with all King’s Hawaiian policies and procedures (Safety, EEO, Sexual Harassment, Quality, etc.)
- Role may require off-shift and/or weekend work
- Performs other duties as required which are reasonably within scope of this role
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE)
- Required – High school diploma, or GED equivalent
- Required – 3 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing
- Required – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English
- Required – Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence in English
- Required – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Preferred – Experience in Food manufacturing environment
- Preferred – English/Spanish bilingual
- Preferred – Bachelor’s degree from an accredited 4-year college
- Preferred – Proficiency with all MS Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Preferred – Working knowledge of Autonomous Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance
Additional Qualifications (job Skills, Abilities, Knowledge)
- Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
- Proficient with RedZone Productivity Suite
- Proficient with Excel and/or Tableau for dashboard building
- Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization
