About Kings Gym
Kings Gym is a strength and conditioning gym with five sites across London and the South East — Croydon, Tower Bridge, Mitcham, Crawley, and Brighton. We are known for world‑class equipment, a serious training environment, and a community that means it. Our members range from competitive powerlifters to those training for Hyrox, hypertrophy, or general fitness. Alongside our gyms, we have a growing Kings clothing line — performance and lifestyle apparel rooted in the same strength culture that defines our sites.
The standard here is high — and we want our content to reflect that. Both sides of Kings are growing — the gyms and the clothing — and we need our social presence to keep pace. Content will serve two Instagram accounts: one for Kings Gym and one for the Kings clothing brand. We are looking to push the clothing much harder through content, and we need someone who can move between gym floor footage and apparel‑led creative without losing the thread of either.
We are looking for a part‑time Content Creator who understands what it feels like to train, who can spot a moment worth capturing, and who can produce content that resonates with a strength, fitness, and streetwear audience. We will pay more attention to taste in your portfolio than credentials on paper.
The role
- Part‑time role for 15–20 hours per week.
- You will generate and deliver content ideas, film across all five Kings Gym sites, shoot and edit content for both the Kings Gym and Kings clothing Instagram accounts, and support the wider team on content days.
- You will report into Kings Gym line management and work in close collaboration with our marketing agency.
- Hours: 15–20 hours per week.
- Rate: Up to £14.5k P/A.
- Location: On site across all gyms — Croydon, Tower Bridge, Mitcham, Crawley, Brighton (future site openings to be included).
- Travel: Travel expenses to be agreed.
- Reporting to: Kings Gym line management, with close day‑to‑day collaboration with our marketing agency.
- Start date: To be confirmed.
Content ideation
- Proactively research and propose content ideas and trends relevant to the strength, fitness, and gym community.
- Bring a consistent pipeline of fresh concepts to the team — reels, series, challenges, member spotlights, educational content, and anything else that feels right for the Kings Gym audience.
- Stay ahead of what is performing across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts within the fitness space and translate that into ideas that fit our brand.
- Maintain a running shot list and participate in a weekly review of what performed, what did not, and what to do differently.
Weekly output
- 4 hero reels: Concepted, shot, and edited by you each week. These are the primary social deliverable — they should be attention‑grabbing from the first second and feel native to the platform they are built for.
- Stories/Live in gym posts: Live story content across gyms for daily updates and member engagement, ensuring every gym is covered. Tag each gym location when on site. Utilise member and gym team to ensure this is personable.
- Stills as needed: Product shots, lookbook imagery, and feed grid content. Frequency varies by week — you will be briefed on what is needed and when.
- Shot list + weekly review: A live, updated shot list shared with the team, and a brief weekly review of what landed, what did not, and what is coming. This keeps everyone aligned and the content improving.
Filming
- Film content across all five Kings Gym sites, working with team members and gym members — always with their knowledge and permission.
- Capture the environment, the people, the culture, and the training that makes Kings Gym what it is — not staged, not corporate, but real.
- Be comfortable directing a shot as much as waiting for the right moment to arrive naturally.
- Manage your own site visit schedule to ensure each location receives regular coverage throughout the month.
Editing and delivery
- Edit all filmed footage end‑to‑end — from raw capture to a finished cut ready for each platform. Deliver content within agreed timelines, formatted and captioned correctly.
- Maintain an organised library of footage and assets for ongoing and future use.
Content days and wider support
- Attend planned content days and assist with behind‑the‑scenes capture, additional angles, and supplementary footage.
- Be a collaborative presence on set — the best content days involve everyone working together.
- Work alongside Kings influencers to build rapport and support with their involvement month to month.
Meetings and communication
- Attend content meetings and any additional meetings as required.
- Communicate proactively with the marketing agency and Kings Gym line management — keeping both informed on what is planned, what is in edit, and what is ready to go.
MUST‑HAVES
- A real portfolio of short‑form video — TikTok, Reels, or Shorts. Send us links to watch, not a CV to read.
- A strong eye for storytelling and attention‑grabbing hooks — you understand that the first second is everything. A bonus if you are also strong on composition, light, and movement.
- Self‑directed — you can carry a project from idea to capture without hand‑holding. You manage your time, your shot list, and your output.
- A genuine connection to fitness, lifting, training, or streetwear culture. You do not need to be a competitive athlete, but you need to understand the world you are filming.
- On‑site daily in London, with the ability to travel to all five sites across the month.
NICE TO HAVE
- Prior experience creating content for a gym, fitness brand, sports brand, or streetwear label.
- An understanding of strength training, powerlifting, or functional fitness — what it looks like, what it feels like, and what makes a great shot in a gym environment.
- Experience working alongside a marketing team or agency and an understanding of how content sits within a wider social strategy.
- Familiarity with content scheduling tools, platform analytics, or social media management.
What we offer
- Flexible working — hours and filming schedule arranged around content needs and site availability.
- Access to all five Kings Gym sites as part of the role.
- The opportunity to build a portfolio of content across a growing, well‑regarded gym brand with a strong and distinctive identity.
- A close working relationship with both the Kings Gym team and our marketing agency — real collaboration, not isolation.
- Travel expenses to be agreed.
- Free Kings Gym Membership.
- Discount across Kings Gym services (on‑site therapist).
- Kings Gym shop discount — merchandise and supplements.
A NOTE ON HOW WE HIRE: We are open to all levels of experience. The right hire is more often a young creator who lives this culture than a senior agency operator. We will pay attention to taste in your portfolio, not credentials on paper. If your content speaks for itself, let it.
