This position is responsible for oversight and supervision of the fitness facility in Kings Gym. With your experience leading a fitness or gym business, you’ll be managing our dedicated team to perform all aspects of the gym. Oversee the use, care, operation, maintenance, and record-keeping of all fitness equipment. Ensure the team are focused on performing all duties required of their roles, including regular reviews and recognition of performance. This person is responsible for providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all members of the Kings Gym community. Lastly, this person is responsible for ensuring our teams deliver a quality customer service by assisting members with their long-term fitness goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your team and personally ensure day-to-day smooth running of Kings Gym fitness facilities.
  • Take full accountability for the gym’s performance.
  • Line management of Kings Gym employees in your facility.
  • Responsibility for legal compliance including Health and Safety.
  • Responsible for targeting improvements in service delivery.
  • Record and monitor daily safety checks on all equipment, report any hazards and ensure works are completed.
  • To ensure any potential hazards are reported and actioned, sharing the outcome with the Area Manager.
  • To support with tours of the facilities and the “selling” of memberships.
  • Great leadership and communication on our Slack platforms.

Team Leadership

  • Develop, lead and maintain the KG culture, values and behaviours.
  • Day-to-day management & leadership of your store, supporting our teams.
  • Recruiting, training, coaching and developing your teams – from part time Team Members to full time Leaders.
  • Reviewing TM’s and Leaders performance and implementing development and improvement plans.
  • Leading your team to succeed in any and all audits and mystery shopper visits.
  • Leading your team to ensure principles are followed.
  • Own the performance management of your team, ensuring you always follow all relevant policies and procedures.

Commercial Management

  • Managing labour scheduling to budget, to ensure efficiency of your store.
  • Managing your stores inter‑store transfers of staff/stock, customer satisfaction, audits, labour cost analysis, product cost analysis.
  • Maximising sales and profit growth.
  • Accurate ordering to ensure strong sales growth in line with COGS and waste budgets set by the company.

Brand Reputation

  • Ensure all public‑facing merchandising, communication and social media matches Kings Gym culture and philosophy.
  • Ensure member issues are dealt with efficiently and discreetly.
  • Review public reviews on Google, social media etc. and signpost any potentially brand‑damaging commentary to the Operations Director.
  • Respond appropriately to online reviews where it does not require signposting to the Operations Director, in a professional and polite manner, following Kings Gym guidelines.
  • Maintain the facility to Kings Gym standards, so we are always providing what we promise.
  • Be an ambassador for the brand, promoting the facility where naturally appropriate.

General Duties

  • Provide customer service through: interacting with members, assisting with queries, selling merchandise, upgrading memberships, educating participants on how to use equipment, and answering questions.
  • Ensure the fitness area remains clean and organised; organise loose weights, weight plates, and bars on the gym floor and communicate with members to keep the facility tidy.
  • Disinfect and clean equipment and complete simple maintenance checks.
  • Actively supervise the gym floor, completing regular floor checks.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace behind the counter.
  • Act in a professional manner by upholding Kings Gym policy when involved in conflict management with members and staff.
  • Perform opening/closing procedures of the fitness floor and cardio areas.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and team training sessions.
  • Actively marketing and promoting current facilities and programs as per your manager’s request.
  • Maintain a standard of performance on daily tasks.
  • Communicate clear and concise information as needed to members, emergency medical service personnel and police services where required.
  • Adhere to all Kings Gym guidelines and any reasonable request from your line manager or the senior leadership team.

Your KPI’s

Your KPI’s will be agreed and communicated by your line manager.

Salary

Starting salary of £30,000 per annum.

Working Hours

40 hours a week. Working days are Monday to Sunday, flexible approach to working days/times to ensure effective management of an operation which trades across 7 days a week.
