We are looking for an experienced academic professional to join our team in a dual-role position. During the summer, you will be Assistant Director of Studies, leading our vibrant summer programme. Outside the summer period, you will teach EFL courses and support the Director of Studies with the day-to-day operation of our academic programmes.

Summer role

As Assistant Director of Studies, you will ensure the smooth running of our summer programme and maintain the exceptionally high academic standards Kings Education is known for.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce weekly timetables and coordinate with all departments and stakeholders
  • Ensure consistency across teaching and learning, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Support staff development, including CPD, and support seasonal or temporary teachers and administrators
  • Cover as delegated, duties for the Director of Studies during his/her absence

Duties and Responsibilities: As an EFL Teacher outside the summer period you will:

  • Teach engaging, student-centred EFL lessons to international students on adult and Study Tours programmes
  • Support the Director of Studies with aspects of day-to-day academic management and operational duties
  • Assist and support the teaching team to maintain high standards and promote professional development
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing teaching quality across the school

Person Specification

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • An excellent up-to-date knowledge of content, syllabus and assessment of the courses delivered in the EFL department
  • A student-centred approach to learning at all times
  • A proven track record in leadership and management
  • A commitment to the effective teaching of language learners and have highly effective communication skills for dealing with international students
  • Professional behaviour and present a professional image at all times
  • The ability to manage communications and administrative tasks effectively and efficiently
  • That they are an excellent contributor and team worker
  • Level 7 ESOL Qualification such as DELTA or DipTESOL
  • A first degree in your specialist subject

Desirable attributes include:

  • Being IT literate and able to use technology efficiently and effectively in the delivery of the subject
  • Being innovative, flexible and interested in professional development and departmental improvement
