The King's Rossetti Academic (Biology) is a part‑time role supporting pupils in curricular and co‑curricular biology activities and guiding them through the university application process. The position is designed to run approximately eight hours per week across one or two days and is intended to work alongside the candidate’s other research or study commitments.
Responsibilities
- Run subject extension sessions and deliver pupil workshops as part of Rossetti Day in January and Curiosity Day in June.
- Provide feedback on draft personal statements, prepare pupils for admissions tests, and conduct mock interviews.
- Offer strategic advice on university applications.
- Support the creation and delivery of enrichment resources, talks and activities within both the curriculum and co‑curriculum.
- Supervise pupils in the research, writing and delivery of individual projects, such as King's Essays.
- Provide occasional support for our partnership programme and international schools.
Essential Qualifications
- Good undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Biology or a closely related subject.
- Genuine interest in contemporary biology; applicant may be a current doctoral or post‑doctoral researcher.
- Ability to work well with others and demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent communication, organisational and listening skills.
- Desire to enrich pupils’ intellectual experience beyond exam specifications and inspire them to flourish.

- Understanding of the application process for competitive degree courses in biology, and willingness to support pupils with admissions tests and interviews.
