Based at King’s College School Wimbledon, one of the world’s leading independent schools, and requiring regular international travel, the education director is a pivotal member of the King’s College School International (KCSWI) senior leadership team. Working in close partnership with colleagues at King’s Wimbledon, the postholder holds overall responsibility for the strategic direction, development and quality of education across the King’s International family of schools, ensuring that every school delivers an authentically King’s education of the highest standard.
This executive leadership role is ideally suited to an experienced and successful senior leader with a track record of leading educational excellence at scale. The education director provides strategic oversight of all aspects of the educational experience, including pastoral care, safeguarding, wellbeing, teaching and learning, curriculum development, academic performance, co-curricular provision, professional development and leadership development. The role also carries overall accountability for the workstreams led by members of the KCSWI education team, ensuring coherence, consistency and excellence across all areas of educational provision as the family of schools continues to grow.
The postholder will lead the development of robust and scalable educational frameworks, quality assurance processes and improvement strategies across the global network. Working closely with King’s Wimbledon and international partner schools, they will ensure that every aspect of school life reflects the values, expectations and educational philosophy of King’s, while continually evolving to meet the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world.

The education director will champion world-class educational experiences that enable pupils to flourish academically, socially and emotionally, preparing them with the knowledge, skills, character and confidence to thrive and make a positive contribution in an increasingly complex and interconnected future.
Person specification:
- Proven academic leadership experience in an early years, primary, or senior school setting
- Teaching qualification and/or relevant teaching experience
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required
- Dedicated, resilient, and hardworking approach
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong alignment with King’s mission, aims and values
- Ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships across the King’s community, both in Wimbledon and internationally.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and planning skills
- Highly motivated, with the initiative, energy, and drive to deliver results
- Sound understanding of the schools sector, including the educational and commercial aspects of school leadership and management
- Experience of working in an international context, either through employment overseas or through involvement in international education initiatives and partnerships
