Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits including contributory pension scheme, health benefits, free gym membership, lunch during term-time.

The Staff EDI Advisor is a new post within the HR department which will initially focus on embedding inclusive recruitment and employment practices. The postholder will act as the school’s subject matter expert on EDI in recruitment, selection and employment practice, working in close partnership with senior and middle leaders. The postholder will provide evidence-based advice, practical support and training to help the school attract and retain diverse talent. They will use data, sector knowledge and best practice in inclusive recruitment and selection practices to further improve policy and processes, and to ensure the school is an inclusive employer.

As these initiatives become established, the role is expected to broaden in scope, with the postholder taking a more proactive role in supporting staff on EDI matters, fostering wellbeing, inclusion and belonging.

Person Specification

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Relevant specialist training or CPD in equality, diversity and inclusion will be preferred
  • Demonstrable experience of working in an EDI, HR or people-focused role with direct responsibility for diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of UK equality legislation, including the Equality Act 2010, and its practical application in employment contexts
  • Experience of using data and analytics to diagnose recruitment disparities and develop evidence-based recommendations
  • Experience of reviewing and writing recruitment materials (job descriptions, adverts, person specifications) through an inclusion lens
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high-quality reports, guidance materials and training content
  • Ability to influence and build trusted relationships with senior and middle leaders, and external stakeholders
