About The Role

The Strategic Projects Manager (Education) position is an exciting role within the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care (NMPC), King’s College London. The postholder will be responsible for the management, implementation and delivery of strategic&process improvement projects in support of our Education strategy, with a focus on our undergraduate/postgraduate pre-registration nursing and midwifery students, alongside our postgraduate post-qualification education.

This post would suit somebody who has experience of managing strategic projects within Higher Education and / or has experience of managing education focused projects in a programme or project management capacity. The postholder will have a strong commitment to excellence in working with a diverse student population, excellent communication skills, will be a good listener who works well with people from different disciplines, and someone with a passion for bringing people together to create positive change. Working at a fast pace, you will have the ability to work independently with effective oversight and prioritisation and have excellent attention to detail. This role suits a self-starter who can take ownership of project delivery and has the ability to see the "bigger picture" and how the various projects will interconnect and influence each other to achieve the Faculty’s aim of supporting every student’s success.

This role sits within the Nightingale Student HUB providing strategic support to the Faculty’s leadership and will report to the Associate Director of Education, working closely with the Vice Dean (Education). This is a full time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

Location: Hybrid – minimum of 2 days per week on Campus (Waterloo).

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Have delivered successful implementation and/or transformation projects of commensurate scale and complexity, that have delivered lasting benefits
  • Wide experience of successfully drawing on your programme and/or project toolkit to bring structure and good control to projects
  • Strong analysis and organisational skills, able to provide actionable insight that helps inform decisions and plans
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement and process improvement methodology and application
  • Understanding of whole system change and operating model design and development
  • Confident working in multidisciplinary teams, and building strong working relationships to drive effective outcomes
  • Excellent written, PowerPoint and verbal communication skills
  • Adept at engaging with sponsors and stakeholders, including with senior colleagues and externals, adapting message, style and manner as needed
  • Demonstrable evidence of ability to motivate others and take them on a common journey

Desirable criteria

  • Experience within the Higher Education sector or adjacent/similar sector and understanding of the strategic context we operate in
  • recognised qualification in project management
  • Understanding of programme administration in higher education
  • Knowledge and understanding of issues facing students and experience of managing enhancements to the student experience in response to student surveys such as the National Student Survey (NSS)

£53,947 to £63,350 per annum inclusive of London Weighting Allowance
