Estates & Facilities are the stewards of King's extensive property portfolio that enables innovative teaching and pioneering research across five campuses in central London. King's Sport & Wellness aims to connect with our communities to help them find their personal best, delivering distinctive, inclusive and sustainable sport and wellness experiences that unite our communities, enable student and staff success and generate positive impact for King's and society.
In support of this ambition, the Waterloo Sport & Wellness Centre was established in 2022 and provides a key environment for the delivery of our services and programmes, increasing opportunities for our communities to be physically active and supporting physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join King's Sport & Wellness, contributing to our mission to deliver distinctive, inclusive and sustainable sport and wellness experiences that enable student and staff success and create a positive impact for King's and society.
The postholder will support the delivery and development of our Wellness offer across King's Sport & Wellness, providing engaging opportunities that increase physical activity and support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our students and staff.
Alongside the delivery of Wellness programmes and services, the postholder will contribute to the safe, effective and customer-focused operation of the King's Sport & Wellness Centre and Waterloo Gym. The role will help maintain high standards across our facilities and support the delivery of an inclusive, welcoming and high-quality experience for our communities.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Level 2 Fitness/Gym Instructor qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant experience of working within a fitness, physical activity, sport or wellness environment.
- Experience of delivering fitness, physical activity or wellness sessions to individuals and/or groups.
- Knowledge and understanding of holistic wellness and the role of physical activity in supporting physical, mental and social wellbeing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships with a diverse range of students, staff, colleagues and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations
- Ability and willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends where required.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining relevant professional knowledge and skills.
Desirable criteria
- First Aid qualified
- Level 3 Fitness Qualification
- Holistic group fitness qualifications
