About the role:
In March 2026, King\’s College London will launch a 6-year, European Research Council (ERC) funded, research project called AdaptAIR. This project is in collaboration with the University of Sheffield, University of Guelph, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. It aims to study the implementation of climate change adaptation technologies in the Himalayas. AdaptAIR is an interdisciplinary project led by four principal investigators; George Adamson (King\’s College London), Nithya Natarajan (King\’s College London), Karine Gagné (University of Guelph, Canada), and Jeremy Ely (University of Sheffield), in partnership with Anshu Ogra (IIT Delhi, India) and private sector partners in India. The project manager will work closely with the PI team on the planning and delivery of the project\’s aims. They will be line managed by the Head of School Operations do for the School of Global Affairs. The project manager will be responsible for the management and inter-institutional coordination of all non-academic activities and operations to support and maximise delivery of the projects aims.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
1. Relevant extensive research support experience in an HEI setting
2. Experience setting up and managing large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders
3. Experience in managing budgets (£1m+), recruitment, and delivering a varied programme of work to plan and agreed deadlines
4. Experience of successful partnership working
5. Highly developed verbal and written communication, presenting and facilitation skills
6. Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills
7. Ability to act on personal initiative and take responsibility for own work, with a creative approach to problem solving
Desirable criteria
1. A degree (and post graduate degree)
2. A good understanding of the requirements of the research environment and research project management and governance.
3. Previous experience of ERC grant management/processes
4. Experience in working in a multidisciplinary context and working collaboratively across teams and Universities
5. Experience of working with partners in the Global South. Experience in visa application processes
