We are seeking an organised, proactive and highly motivated Project Manager and Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Liaison to join the PRIME Study (Peanut Response and Immunity in Early-life), a major Medical Research Council (MRC)-funded research programme based at King's College London and Evelina London Children's Hospital.
The PRIME study aims to understand the immune mechanisms underlying oral tolerance to peanut and the development of peanut allergy in early childhood, with the ultimate goal of identifying pathways that may lead to curative treatments for food allergy.
Food allergy affects approximately 8% of children and can have a major impact on quality of life for children and their families.
While early introduction of peanut in infancy dramatically reduces the risk of peanut allergy, the biological mechanisms responsible for this protective effect are not well understood.
PRIME combines clinical research, advanced immunology, systems biology and innovative human gut organoid models to address this important scientific and clinical challenge.
The successful candidate will play a central role in the delivery of this ambitious programme, working closely with the Chief Investigator, principal investigators, research scientists, clinical teams, data managers, patients, families and external collaborators.
The postholder will coordinate all aspects of study delivery, including recruitment, study visits, governance activities, ethics and regulatory submissions, reporting, stakeholder engagement and participant communications.
They will help ensure that the study is delivered efficiently, to the highest standards of scientific integrity and regulatory compliance.
A key component of the role will be leading Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) activities across the programme.
The postholder will work closely with children, parents, carers, patient organisations and community stakeholders to ensure that the experiences and priorities of families affected by food allergy are embedded throughout study delivery, dissemination and future research development.
There will also be opportunities, if desired, to develop supervised research activities embedded within the role.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile translational research programme with the potential to transform our understanding and treatment of food allergy.
This is a part time post (28 hours per week) and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 30 April 2029, starting on the 1 November 2026.
The role will be based at St Thomas' Hospital, with close links to Guy's Campus and Evelina London Children's Hospital.

Essential criteria
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e. g. dietetics, biomedical sciences, public health, psychology, social sciences, health sciences, clinical research, healthcare management or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working within a health research, higher education, NHS, charity or clinical research environment.
- Experience working with databases, project tracking systems or research management systems.
- Experience supporting research governance, ethics submissions, regulatory processes or study management activities.
- Knowledge of the clinical research lifecycle, PPIE principles and best practice in health research.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to non-specialist audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Desirable criteria
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field.
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Familiarity with NHS research delivery infrastructure and clinical research pathways.
- Experience in clinical dietetics and providing dietary advice to patients with food allergies.
- Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
