About the role

The Senior Digital Education Officer will be part of the Digital Education team within The Dickson Poon School of Law. While sitting within the School's Digital Education team, the role will also work closely with the wider Digital Education community across King’s.

The Senior Digital Education Officer will support the administration of King’s Moodle-based virtual learning environment (KEATS), coordinate digital education processes and provide first‐and‐second line support for learning technologies. The role will involve delivering training, troubleshooting issues and supporting digital education solutions that improve the staff and student experience.

Working with academic and professional services colleagues, the Senior Digital Education Officer will help embed good digital education practices into teaching, learning and assessment. The role will contribute to strategic digital education projects and ensure a student‐centred approach is at the heart of delivery. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for accessible and inclusive digital education, a commitment to continuous improvement and a focus on delivering high‐quality customer service.

The role is based at Somerset House on the King’s Strand Campus, though occasional travel to other campuses may be required. Professional services staff are expected to work on‐campus a minimum of two days per week, with the option to work remotely for up to three days per week. Changes to this pattern may occur and will be determined by required output and the School's need. This is a full‐time post (35 hours per week), offered on an indefinite contract.

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

  • Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience in a learning technologies role.
  • Experience in supporting virtual learning environments and learning technologies, including troubleshooting and problem‐solving.
  • Experience producing self‐help user guides and maintaining digital learning content.
  • Experience in facilitating and delivering training workshops.
  • Excellent task management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Customer service oriented with negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information to a range of audiences.
  • Track record of continuous improvement through implementing solutions that enhance service delivery.
  • Desirable criteria
    • Knowledge of inclusive education and digital accessibility practices.
    • Experience supporting virtual reality (VR) projects.
    • Experience using service desk ticketing systems to manage, track and resolve support requests.
