Overview
In this role you will conduct advanced research in goal-oriented semantic networking within the CTR, a hub for cutting-edge 6G research. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary PIs to push dynamic semantic networking across sensing, computation, communication, and control, using simulations and prototypes. This position supports publications, knowledge exchange, and proposal development while contributing to the CHEDDAR 6G program. The role offers impactful work at the intersection of academia and industry, within a renowned university environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Principal Investigators to meet project aims and timelines
- Publish research findings in journals and present at conferences
- Participate in internal and external events to build collaborations
- Support project outputs through events, workshops, and dissemination activities
- Contribute to development of new research proposals
- Work on goal-oriented semantic networking projects, including simulations and prototypes
- Engage with project partners and research group to advance the agenda
Key requirements
- PhD (or near completion) in Telecoms, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related area
- Record of peer-reviewed high-quality journal publications
- Publications showing experience in goal-oriented semantic communications and token communications
- Experience with open-source LLM and Agentic AI systems
- Ability to attend regular meetings and work collaboratively and independently
- Good interpersonal and team-working skills

- Prototyping ability in OpenAir Interface, Soft-defined Radio, and OpenRAN
