To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
- Essential criteria
- PhD in climate change adaptation, human geography or cognate discipline
- Expertise in transdisciplinary and co-produced research methods
- Track record in publishing scientific articles
- Experience using arts-based/creative approaches in co-production
- Proven ability in qualitative data analysis using Nvivo or similar tools
- Experience organising externally facing workshops or conferences
- Experience working collaboratively in an international and interdisciplinary context
- Proven ability to work independently
- Desirable criteria
- Expertise in climate-related mobilities
- Effective project management skills and demonstrable ability to work at pace to meet deadlines
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships and working in a practitioner/policy context
- Good understanding of intersectionality and best practice when working with diverse groups
Please note that this is a PhD level role but candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting award of their PhDs will be considered. In these circumstances the appointment will be made at Grade 5, spine point 30 with the title of Research Assistant. Upon confirmation of the award of the PhD, the job title will become Research Associate and the salary will increase to Grade 6.
