This post will be based in the Health Service and Population Research Department within the School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences and affiliated with King’s Women’s Mental Health (KWMH)– a leading centre for research on violence, abuse, and mental health.
About the role:
This post offers a time-limited, fast-paced opportunity to contribute to the VISION (Violence, Health & Society) Consortium, a UK Prevention Research Partnership–funded initiative focused on reducing violence-related harms through high-quality data analysis and rapid evidence generation. The role is based within King’s Women’s Mental Health, a leading centre for research on violence, abuse, and mental health.
The successful candidate will undertake intensive analysis of data from the Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey (APMS) 2023/24 relating to violence and abuse. Working closely with the line manager, the postholder will be expected to conceptualise, deliver, and write up at least three distinct analyses within a defined timeframe, leading to manuscripts ready for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
The postholder will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team with a strong emphasis on pace, productivity, and impact. The role is particularly well suited to researchers seeking a focused publication-driven post, offering the opportunity to rapidly build authorship, deepen substantive expertise in violence and abuse, and strengthen academic networks. It provides a strong platform for those preparing fellowship applications, with access to mentorship and collaborative opportunities within a supportive but delivery-oriented research environment.
This post is offered for three months full time (or part-time equivalent over a longer period), with a start date no earlier than 2nd March 2026 and an end date no later than 30th September 2026.
Research staff at King’s are entitled to at least 10 days per year (pro-rata) for professional development. This entitlement, from the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, applies to Postdocs, Research Assistants, Research and Teaching Technicians, Teaching Fellows and AEP equivalent up to and including grade 7.
