The Systems Cancer Immunology Lab, led by Professor Shahram Kordasti, focuses on the immunobiology of myeloid malignancies and bone marrow failure syndromes, with a particular emphasis on myelodysplastic syndromes, immune monitoring, translational immunology and international collaborative research.
About The Role
Applications are invited for an i4MDS Grant and Consortium Manager to support a new two-year MRC Partnership Grant and the wider grants and operations portfolio of the Systems Cancer Immunology Lab at King’s College London, led by Professor Shahram Kordasti. The post holder will play a central role in coordinating the International Integrative Innovative Immunology for MDS (i4MDS) consortium, supporting grant and financial management, consortium communications, reporting, contracts, meetings, events, website and social media activity, and future funding applications. This role will suit a proactive and highly organised individual with experience in research administration, grant management and stakeholder coordination, who is confident working across academic, clinical, professional services and international partner teams to keep complex multi-centre research projects on track. This is a full time, and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 30-Sep-2028.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
- Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or relevant experience
- Knowledge of the regulatory, policy and procedural context in Higher Education Institutions, through direct professional services’ experience in the sector
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, confident in writing reports, business cases, meeting minutes and formal correspondence
- Highly numerate with proven financial management, including experience of preparing and managing significant budgets, risk management and analytical skills to inform strategic decisions and procedure.
- Experience of building an effective network across a complex organisation and with external stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment, prioritising work to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
- Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of research practice and policy in health (bioscience/ medicine).
- Good practical understanding of the UK employment law and the underlying principles.
- Experience of UKRI/MRC or similar funder requirements and of supporting MTAs, DTAs, collaboration agreements or sub-contracts.
- Experience maintaining websites, social media channels or newsletters, and organising national or international meetings, workshops or training events.
