The Department of Marketing at King's Business School is a vibrant and ambitious academic community with 29 academic staff and a thriving doctoral programme. Located in the heart of central London, King's College London is ranked 3rd in the UK and the top institution in London for Business, Management & Marketing in the 2026 Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide. Our department contributes to the School's strong international reputation through rigorous research, high-quality teaching and engagement with industry and policy partners.
Our research work is organised through three hubs: Marketing Technology & Behaviour, Responsible Marketing & Consumption, and Marketing for Societal Value. These hubs underpin our seminars, workshops, conferences, practitioner engagement and international collaborations. A new behavioural research lab is also in development, further strengthening our capacity for experimental and interdisciplinary work, as well as opening new avenues for experiential teaching.
Education in the department spans undergraduate, postgraduate, online and executive programmes. We emphasise experiential learning, strong links with industry, inclusive teaching practices and the integration of contemporary research into the classroom. Our portfolio is growing, with a new BSc in Marketing programme and revised curricula designed to further enhance student experience and career readiness.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Education & Research) in Marketing to join a research-active and expanding department in the heart of London. The post holder will contribute to our strong research environment by developing and sustaining high-quality work suitable for publication in 4 or 4* CABS-ranked or equivalent high-impact journals, and by engaging with academic and practitioner communities relevant to their research.
At Lecturer level, we are looking for a colleague with emerging potential to develop a coherent and sustainable programme of research, supported by early indicators of quality (e.g., mature review rounds, promising working papers or pilot studies). Candidates should demonstrate a clear trajectory towards future outputs in top-tier journals. They will contribute to our undergraduate, postgraduate and online programmes through research-informed teaching, supervision and thoughtful curriculum development, and will participate in departmental activities appropriate to career stage.
At Senior Lecturer level, we are seeking a colleague with an established record of publishing in 4/4* CABS-ranked or equivalent high-impact journals, a sustained research pipeline and a demonstrated contribution to the wider research community. Senior Lecturers will provide leadership within departmental initiatives or research hubs, support programme development, mentor colleagues where appropriate and undertake more substantial service responsibilities.
The post holder will report to the Head of Department and work closely with colleagues across our research hubs, educational programmes and external partnerships. They will be supported to further develop their research profile, pursue external funding and build collaborations within King's and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collegial and ambitious department within one of the world's leading universities. This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
- Essential criteria
- A PhD in a relevant subject area, or near completion with submission expected shortly
- Evidence of, or clear potential for, publications in 4 or 4* CABS-ranked or equivalent high-impact journals
- Ability to deliver high-quality teaching in marketing subjects at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Engagement with the academic community appropriate to career stage
- Experience of effective collaboration in research or teaching.
- Evidence of academic citizenship (e.g., involvement in seminars, workshops, departmental or School activities)
- Emerging record of securing internal or external research funding
- Experience supporting postgraduate research supervision
We ask all candidates to submit a copy of their CV, and a supporting statement, detailing how they meet the essential criteria listed in the person specification section of the job description. If we receive a strong field of candidates, we may use the desirable criteria to choose our final shortlist, so please include your evidence against these where possible.
