About Us The Department of European & International Studies is recruiting a fixed-term Lecturer in Politics Education. The post is open in terms of theoretical and methodological approach within the field of Politics. The post holder is expected to contribute to the delivery of the BAs in European Politics and European Studies and the MAs in International Political Economy and European Studies, and the BA in International Relations to which the department contributes. In particular, the post holder will be expected to deliver modules on Allies in Arms, Foreign Policy Analysis, Global Politics, Italian Politics and The Making of Modern Europe. Teach modules on Allies in Arms, Foreign Policy Analysis, Global Politics, Italian Politics and The Making of Modern Europe. Contribute fully to developing and enhancing the research profile of the Department, School and College. Supervise and train postgraduate students to ensure their effective development. Act as personal tutor to students. Participate fully in assessment and examination process as appropriate using a variety of methods and techniques and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their leaning. Participate in and develop internal and external networks. Conduct individual or collaborative research projects. Contribute to departmental, School, Faculty and University administrative duties. This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. About You To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential Criteria PhD and first degree in a relevant subject (PhD submitted or completed by time of application) Specialism in Politics Ability to teach modules on Allies in Arms, Foreign Policy Analysis, Global Politics, Italian Politics and The Making of Modern Europe Clear potential for excellent academic publications record Ability to supervise student research at BA and MA levels Desirable criteria University teaching experience Administrative experience Further information We pride ourselves on being inclusive and welcoming.
