About the Role: This is a development opportunity for a talented individual who wishes to advance research and education related to adult nursing, with a particular focus on pre‑registration adult nursing at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be responsible to the Head of Department, Adult Nursing and will work collaboratively with programme, cohort and module leads as well as the faculty professional services teams.
Location and Contract: 1.0 WTE, 2‑year fixed‑term contract with potential secondments. Hybrid – a minimum of 40% of time (2 days/week) on campus, at Waterloo and Guy’s Campus.
Qualifications:
- Registration as a nurse with the NMC and an MSc or equivalent relevant to the themes of the Faculty and this role.
- Experience in planning and delivering high‑quality evaluated education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, with a focus on inclusive student experience and success.
- Evidence of commitment to continued development in evidence‑based practice, research methods and relevant knowledge, along with supervision of MSc and undergraduate student projects.
- Ability to work as an effective and inclusive team member, encouraging good practice in teaching and research and inspiring others, even in challenging environments.
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, strong interpersonal and personal effectiveness, and superior written, verbal and digital communication skills.
- Publications, conference presentations and/or evidence of funding to support educational enhancement, service improvement, research and/or scholarship.
- Experience and expertise in community practice related to healthcare and nursing, with a critical understanding of care delivery issues.
- Strong record of collaborative practice and fostering partnerships with community‑based organisations, primary care networks and underserved populations.
- PhD or equivalent relevant to themes of the Faculty and this role.
- Experience in innovative and effective teaching approaches, including distance learning, blended learning, digital learning and/or simulation (virtual and/or face‑to‑face).
- Experience of co‑leading/leading research projects, education activities or clinical service.
- Experience of course development, with creative assessment approaches, providing robust, developmental and constructive feedback at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
- Proven commitment to innovation and student learning in education, supporting student welfare and enabling personal and professional development, and providing academic advice and pastoral support.
