About Us

The Head of Change Management sits within the Transformation Office Directorate.

The Transformation Office (TO) supports the senior leadership of the university in effective strategy execution, delivering a complex set of transformation initiatives and driving sustainable improvements to our core business.

About the Role

The Head of Change role sits within the Transformation Office Directorate where you will be responsible for the delivery of effective change management across our transformation portfolio.

If successful, you will be responsible for delivering the application of the university’s chosen change management methodology to transformation activities through provision of advice and consultancy to senior leaders on planning and leading effective change; building capacity to support effective change management through training, coaching, tools, and advice; and building a network of advocates to support change management.

Driving change will be vital across all stages of project/programme lifecycles. You will lead change management delivery on high-profile projects and build relationships across a wide stakeholder community, engaging with colleagues across Professional Services and faculties and with external partners, and contribute to the transformation agenda across the university, encouraging best practice and common standards.

This is a full-time (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Education to degree standard and/or equivalent qualifications/experience
  2. A recognized change management qualification e.g. PROSCI
  3. Significant experience as a change manager driving effective organisational change within large and complex projects and/or programmes
  4. Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence, motivate, and inspire others
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and team working, tact, diplomacy, and perseverance
  6. Highly effective communication skills attuned to audience requirements and delivered in different formats

Desirable criteria

  1. Knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education sector
