HSPR is multi-disciplinary, including health care professionals, epidemiologists, economists, implementation scientists, qualitative methodologists, service users, social scientists, and statisticians. We work with academic, clinical, and policy organisations locally in London and the UK, and internationally in low, middle, and high-income countries. This role is based in the Centre for Mental Health, Policy and Implementation within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN ) on the Denmark Hill campus. It is an exciting opportunity for a Research Administrator (0.2 FTE) to support the research team on the Wellcome Trust funded Epistemic Exclusion and Patient Safety Participation Evaluation project., The Equality Act of 2010 protects the rights of our students and staff and provides a framework to fulfil our duties to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and in addition, to advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between those who share a protected characteristic and those who do not. About you: To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent.
  • Ability to work productively with relevant stakeholders at various levels.
  • Relevant working experience of using Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to receive, understand and relay complicated ideas or information to various groups of all levels.
  • Effective time management, ability to manage competing priorities, working independently and proactively, and with minimal supervision. Contributing to the broader team's goals and objectives.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, including administrative/operations experience with an in-depth knowledge of a range of practices, methods and procedures to deliver effective and efficient support.
  • Ability to understand and analyse report data and produce an output.

Desirable criteria

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of working within a Higher Education research environment or similar.
  • Experience of using Kfin, Worktribe and PeopleXD.

The post holder will be expected to oversee the programme budget, including the management and monitoring of expenditure. The post holder must have an aptitude for financial matters with a keen attention to detail; experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Word to a high standard is essential. The post holder will also be expected to produce accurate meeting minutes as required. Along with the ability to manage their own workload effectively, they will be required to work both independently and work well as part of a busy team, responding and adapting to the programme's priorities. The successful applicant will bring enthusiasm, strong organisational skills and a pro‑active, energetic and flexible approach to the job. The role involves working with both professional service, research and academic colleagues and is therefore suited to an individual that is personable and good at relating to others. This post allows for some flexibility in working hours and patterns. This is a part‑time post at 0.2 FTE (7 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed term contract for 1 year.
