This is a replacement post. The remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients within the service. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff., The post will be based at Denmark Hill and this will be reviewed within 3 months of the postholder commencing in post.
The post holder will work under the supervision of Prof. Venu Kavarthapu, Mr. Barnett, Miss Reichert and Mr. Hester and provide a senior trainee cover for foot and ankle as well as diabetic foot surgical service. He/she will be expected to gain exposure to the full spectrum of elective as well as complex foot and ankle trauma. The post holder will also coordinate the diabetic foot multidisciplinary orthopaedic emergency and elective services. The fellow will lead the monthly research meetings and is expected to contribute to the agenda. Past fellows have presented their research work at various national and international conferences and published both clinical reviews and new techniques in peer reviewed Foot & Ankle Journals.
