This post is suitable for candidates with previous Paediatric and neonatal experience in level 2 and 3 neonatal unit interested in gaining advancing their paediatric training and in gaining further Neonatal and Paediatrics experience. UK NHS experience is essential.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant neonatologist.
- Clinical responsibilities will include:
- Neonatal Unit- ward rounds, discharge planning, acute admissions and neonatal work.
- Responsibility for either neonatal unit, or postnatal ward and labour ward working with the other middle grade doctors.
- Regular attendance and active participation in neonatal outpatient clinics.
- Participation in overall supervision and education of junior doctors and medical students.
- Taking an active part in the department’s education programme.
- Taking an active part in audit. An audit project is expected in this post.

Person specification
- Qualifications/Higher Qualifications: Registerable medical qualification. [MRCP] or equivalent. Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD).
- Training and Experience: Wide experience in all aspects of [*******], culminating in award of CCT or equivalent.
- Management and Leadership: Able to demonstrate leadership capability within multi-disciplinary teams. Management course and / or qualification.
- Audit & quality improvement: Thorough understanding of principles of medical audit and quality improvement.
- Research: Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead change. Experience of conducting or supporting clinical research. Relevant research experience in one or more aspects of [*******]. Publication of relevant review articles or case reports.
- Teaching: Experience of undergraduate and post-graduate teaching and exam preparation. Teaching skills course / qualification.
