Responsibility for supporting the development of the Trust’s performance management system for regulatory requirements set by internal and external agencies, including projects such as NHS Telephone Advice and Guidance, Specialised Services Quality Dashboards (SSQD), Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN), and National Clinical Audit (NCA) and registry delivery.

The role manages the reporting, capture and collection of data related to national and local commissioning quality indicators in line with established requirements.

Works with corporate and multidisciplinary clinical teams to support processes aligned to the financial models outlined in Fit for the Future, including integration with the Trust’s High Value Care Programme.

Leads quality improvement initiatives linked to team projects and ad‑hoc requirements from services and teams such as Patient Safety, Clinical Coding and the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU).

Collaborates with BIU, service managers and clinicians to ensure timely, accurate reporting and management of quality outcomes, analysing data and developing solutions.

Liaises with counterparts at Guy’s and St Thomas’s (GSTT) and Lewisham and Greenwich (LGT) to share information and learning.

Supports the Programme and Regulatory Performance Manager to ensure the Trust remains compliant with external regulatory and commissioning requirements.

  • Support the establishment and delivery of new work programmes and projects as directed by the Programme and Regulatory Performance Team Manager.

This includes contributing to projects such as Specialised Services Quality Dashboards (SSQD), NHS Advice and Guidance, High Value Care initiatives, and work aligned to national clinical audit and regulatory standards.

  • Provide high ‑ quality project management leadership across assigned workstreams, ensuring effective planning, organisation and delivery.

This includes developing and maintaining project plans, coordinating tasks and timelines, monitoring progress, managing risks and issues, and ensuring appropriate reporting mechanisms are in place.

  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up ‑ to ‑ date project documentation, including project initiation documents, plans, Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Decisions (RAID) logs, highlight reports and action trackers.

Ensure documentation is produced to a consistent standard and aligned with Trust project and programme management approaches, utilising the full Microsoft Office suite and relevant digital tools.

  • Coordinate, support and where required lead programme ‑ related meetings and events, including preparing forward agendas, organising papers and contributions, taking accurate minutes, and managing action logs to ensure timely follow ‑ up and accountability.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to support the delivery of project objectives, ensuring clear communication, effective stakeholder engagement and smooth progression of tasks and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
  • Monitor progress against project milestones and expected outcomes, escalating risks, delays or barriers in a timely way and contributing to the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Produce, interpret and present a range of high ‑ quality reports for internal Trust use and for submission to external bodies, drawing together data from multiple complex sources (e. g. patient outcomes, patient experience, activity, costings and workforce information).

Ensure outputs are accurate, timely and accessible to clinical, operational and managerial colleagues.

  • Maintain effective programme and project reporting, coordinating regular updates, dashboards and exception reports.

Work closely with project leads and stakeholders to ensure that national, regional and Trust ‑ level reporting requirements are met, including the collation, validation and submission of statutory returns.

  • Work with Divisional and corporate colleagues to identify evolving information requirements, translating these into practical reporting solutions.

Develop user ‑ friendly analytical products that support performance monitoring, service delivery, operational planning and regulatory compliance.

  • Provide specialist analytical support and advice, helping managers and teams interpret data, identify performance issues or trends, and apply findings to decision ‑ making, quality improvement, and assurance processes.
  • Undertake detailed analysis to highlight risks, gaps, and variation, escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to the development of improvement actions based on evidence and insight.
  • Support and undertake external and internal negotiations with commissioners, clinicians and managers in relation to financial arrangements such as CQUINs, incentive schemes, contractual expectations and emerging financial models (e. g. those set out in NHS Fit for the Future).

Ensure that information, assumptions and impacts are clearly articulated to support informed discussions and agreements.

  • Work collaboratively with finance, operational and clinical colleagues to ensure that project and programme activities are cost ‑ effective, aligned to agreed budgets, and deliver value for money.
  • Monitor financial performance across assigned workstreams, identifying variances, pressures and risks, and escalating concerns promptly to support timely resolution and financial control.
  • Responsible for implementing a performance management system for tracking and delivering projects, for example but not limited to, NHS Advice and Guidance also known as Consultant Connect, CQUINS, high value care.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the governance for reporting on projects as required, internally and externally.
  • Provide expert knowledge and advise Divisions on internal and external benchmarking information, targets, standards and information requirements to monitor and support improved performance.
  • Horizon scan and establish new workstreams as required.
  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative working relationships, fostering working in an integrated way across the three acute providers, community, primary care and mental health as needed and with other stakeholders beyond KCH.
  • The post holder will work with executive, corporate, operational, clinical and other leads for different project areas and will be responsible for driving forward distinct project workstreams, ensuring each element is delivered on time and within budget.

This will require engagement with a variety of stakeholders across the Trust and with external organisations.

  • Educated to degree level or demonstrate equivalent senior level analytical and operational experience
