Responsibilities

  • Ensure high standard, efficient and effective physiotherapy assessment, treatment and intervention for all patients for whom I am responsible.
  • Assess, treat and manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Work as an effective team member, communicating appropriately with patients, carers and other team members as required.
  • Supervise physiotherapy assistants and may be involved in teaching MDT staff.
  • Undertake an evidence-based project throughout each rotation to further clinical practice and enhance patient care.
  • Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients on a designated caseload.
  • Use clinical reasoning to ensure provision of evidence-based physiotherapy.
  • Attend multidisciplinary meetings, family meetings and board rounds.
  • Ensure that physiotherapy management of a patient is integrated into the MDT management, treatment and discharge plans.
  • Advise, guide and delegate to physiotherapy assistants.
  • Support quality improvement and continuing professional development.
  • Establish good teamwork with physiotherapy colleagues and MDT.
  • Maintain effective communication skills.
