PostKing's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a substantive consultant in Emergency Medicine. This post will be based at the Princess Royal University Hospital, where we currently have a 12.7 WTE consultant team providing on-site consultant cover from 8am to midnight seven days a week.
Position details
This is a 10 PA position:
- 8.5 PA of direct clinical care to PRUH
- 1 PA for Supporting Professional Activities for revalidation
- 0.5 for specialist interests
Responsibilities
- Provide and further develop care for patients in the Emergency Department within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the ongoing development of the Emergency Medicine service at the site.
- Share responsibility for 24/7 Emergency Department cover, contribute to supervision and professional development, and support research, audit, and clinical governance programmes to improve patient care and service quality.
- Contribute to service planning and development, ensuring all activities align with Trust policies, including infection control and patient safety, within a consultant-led 7-day service.
Qualifications
- Wide experience in Emergency Medicine is essential.
- Eligibility for entry to the specialist register for Emergency Medicine is required.
- Interest in leadership and management or paediatrics is particularly desirable.
