Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering paediatric dentistry services and supporting the care group.
- Assess and treatment plan patients referred by general dental practitioners, community dental services, and internal tertiary referrals.
- Provide high-quality care service to patients.
- Contribute to audit programmes, morbidity and mortality, clinical governance, and learning from death.
- Serve as clinical supervisor of junior medical/dental practitioners.
- Participate in teaching, examination, accreditation duties and CPD initiatives.
- Submit and manage outpatient clinic commitments in peripheral hospitals as per care group arrangements.
- Provide 24‑hour, 7‑day cover for the unit on a rota basis, covering annual leave and short‑term sickness.
- Assist with the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the care group’s business plan.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control policies and evidence‑based practice.
- Exhibit professional leadership for staff, fostering continuous professional development.
