Contract: 12 months (fixed term). Hours: 40 hours per week. Salary: £67,325 per annum plus London allowance. Closing date: 14/06/ :59.

Responsibilities

  • Successful candidates will be assigned to one of seven critical‑care units (six at Denmark Hill, one at Princess Royal University Hospital).
  • Working as part of a team of nine resident doctors, you will manage the day‑to‑day care of patients on the unit under the supervision of a consultant intensivist.
  • You will also participate in on‑call rotations to ensure coverage during the day and overnight, supporting patient care alongside senior clinical fellows, advanced critical‑care practitioners and on‑call consultants.
  • Rotations may focus on ICU, emergency department or ward support.
  • Day‑to‑day management of critical‑care patients.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations for day and overnight coverage.
  • Collaborate with senior clinical fellows, advanced critical‑care practitioners and consultants.
  • Support critical‑care patients in ICU, ED and ward settings.

Person Specification

  • Registration: Full registration with GMC/GDC and licence to practice at the time of appointment. MRCP or equivalent qualification. Additional higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD) acceptable.

Training and Experience

  • Proven critical‑care or acute‑medical specialty experience (e.g., anaesthesia, emergency medicine, acute medicine, internal medicine specialties).
  • Evidence of a special commitment to critical care.
  • Demonstrable research and teaching experience.

Personal Skills and Attributes

  • Effective communicator, able to work in a close‑knit team and collaborate with medical and paramedical staff.
  • ATLS qualification.
  • Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills.
