Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe use of medical devices across the Trust.
  • Carry out acceptance testing, servicing, and repair of complex medical equipment and devices.
  • Participate in workshop rotas and timetables, and maintain accurate, timely records of all completed work in the equipment management information technology system.
  • Undertake training to develop skills and keep up with evolving role requirements.
  • Provide training to clinical staff in the use of medical equipment when required.
  • Maintain, test, repair, calibrate, and dispose of medical equipment, including fault diagnosis and safety checks.
  • Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff, including training when required.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contribute to equipment evaluation and incident investigations.
  • Service and repair equipment in clinical areas and provide on-site support.
  • Maintain accurate records using IT systems and ensure data quality.
  • Follow and improve quality procedures and manage workload and maintenance schedules.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements, identify risks, and support safe working practices.
  • Assist with equipment movement and uphold confidentiality, Trust policies, and professional standards.
