The predicted salary is between 55300 - 64800 £ per year.
This is a fixed term (maternity cover) Consultant in Diabetes, Endocrine and GIM post. The remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for General Medicine inpatient services and specialised Diabetes and Endocrinology services.
In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department while having a significant commitment to teaching and training of junior staff. The postholder will work with consultant colleagues to provide high quality patient care across inpatient, outpatient and acute services, including participation in a 24/7 on-call rota and cross-cover for leave and sickness.
The role includes supervision and training of junior doctors, teaching and educational responsibilities, contribution to research, audit, clinical governance and quality improvement activities, and active involvement in service development and Care Group management.
The postholder will also provide professional leadership within the specialty, support staff development and wellbeing, ensure compliance with Trust policies including infection control and patient safety standards, and contribute to the delivery of consultant-led 7‑day services.
