Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently manage inpatient cardiothoracic waiting lists from referral to operation, ensuring compliance with local and national performance targets and best practice, including RTT waiting time targets.
  • Coordinate the administrative pathway for cardiothoracic surgery patients and facilitate effective cooperation between the departments involved in the delivery of care.
  • Work as part of the Cardiothoracic Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to support the smooth running of the inpatient patient journey.
  • Maintain a high quality, patient‑centred service, ensuring patient confidentiality and a courteous, patient‑focused approach.
  • Attend regular department meetings relating to admissions, including RTT / waiting lists, PTL monitoring and Main Theatre scheduling meetings.
